Labelled "Remarkable Garden"<\/strong> and distinguished by a star in the Michelin Green Guide<\/strong> , the park of the Ch\u00e2teau Fort de Rambures is a true haven of greenery that combines history and botany.<\/p>\n

The castle and its grounds are open all year round (closed on Wednesdays).<\/p>\n

  • From March 1st to November 1st<\/strong> : open every day from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm.<\/li>\n
  • From November 2nd to February 28th<\/strong> : open Sundays and public holidays (except Christmas and New Year's Day) from 2pm to 5pm, with two scheduled visits at 2:30pm and 4pm. Other days by appointment.<\/li>\n
  • From July 15th to August 25th<\/strong> : continuous opening from 10am to 6pm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The Herb Garden<\/h3>\n

    Located near Dame H\u00e9l\u00e8ne's Rose Garden<\/strong> , this medieval-inspired garden is laid out in small squares, following a geometric checkerboard pattern. It showcases a collection of plants with diverse uses: medicinal, dyeing, aromatic, and textile. A stroll through these plots reveals how these plants have been part of people's daily lives throughout the centuries.<\/p>\n

    The Rose Garden, a labyrinth of scents<\/h3>\n

    Established in 2003 and covering 3,200 square meters, the Rose Garden of Dame H\u00e9l\u00e8ne<\/strong> is an invitation to contemplation. It boasts over 400 varieties of old and modern roses<\/strong> , blooming from June to September, with peak flowering around mid-June. Its design is inspired by medieval architecture, with geometric flowerbeds<\/strong> , pergolas reminiscent of castle towers, and cross-shaped basins evoking the heraldic themes of the period. This rose garden is lovingly tended throughout the week by a dedicated gardener.<\/p>\n

    A unique fern collection<\/h3>\n

    Created in 2007, this collection showcases a plant often overlooked by the general public. Nearly 50 varieties of ferns<\/strong> , classified by family, are displayed in a specially designed area of the park. These include tree ferns<\/strong> , varieties with silvery leaves<\/strong> , as well as rare species with striking shapes and colors.<\/p>\n

    An English-style wooded park<\/h3>\n

    From the 17th century onwards, when the fortress became a family residence, a formal French garden<\/strong> was laid out. It was transformed in the 18th century into an English landscape park<\/strong> , following the fashion of the time. Today, this park is home to several remarkable trees, some of which are several centuries old.<\/p>\n

    • An American black walnut tree<\/strong> of impressive dimensions.<\/li>\n
