What<\/strong> to see and do at <strong data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"58\">Quintin<\/strong> Castle:<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"407\"> In 1638, the Marquis de la Moussaye, a fervent Protestant, acquired the county of Quintin and its 28 parishes. He then ordered the destruction of the old feudal fortress of the Laval family and entrusted the architect Gabriel Androuet du Cerceau with the construction of a new castle in 1639. The ambitious project was to include four pavilions, a horseshoe-shaped structure, overlooking the pond and the outbuildings.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"409\" data-end=\"711\"> However, conflicts between the bishop and the local lord led to a trial during which it was reported that the Marquise de la Moussaye, in a fit of rage, insulted and slapped the bishop in front of Parliament. Exasperated, Louis XIV ordered the immediate halt of construction, thus leaving the ch\u00e2teau unfinished.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"713\" data-end=\"1035\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"> Today, guided tours of the furnished apartments and various collections are offered from April to October by the current owners. Quintin Castle also hosts an annual themed exhibition, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to discover this fascinating historical site.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"713\" data-end=\"1035\"> Schedules :<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"713\" data-end=\"1035\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"> From April 1st to June 30th and from September 1st to November 2nd: tours every day at 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, and 4:30 pm. From July 1st to August 31st, the castle is open from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm (last tickets issued half an hour before closing). From November 4th to March 30th: one tour only, Friday to Sunday at 3 pm (weekdays by reservation only, minimum 10 people). Christmas holidays: tours every day at 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm (except December 24th, 25th, and January 1st).
